현대적이면서도 멋스러운 디자인
메리의 집은 최소한의 장식을 선호하기 때문에, 우리는 그 스타일을 유지하면서도 객실을 재미있고 생동감 있게 만들었어요. 밝은 회색과 흰색을 배경으로 하여 깔끔한 현대적인 느낌을 유지하면서, 고양이들이 클 수 있는 다양한 요소들을 추가했답니다.

우리는 카펫을 간편하게 청소할 수 있는 비닐 바닥으로 교체하고, 고양이들이 지저분해지기 쉬운 환경에서도 쉽게 관리할 수 있는 Ruggable의 세탁 가능한 조나단 애들러 러그를 추가했습니다. 창 아래 긴 선반은 고양이들이 밖을 내다볼 수 있게 하고, 방의 한쪽 벽은 메리가 일을 하며 고양이들이 가까이서 쉬는 동안 사용할 수 있는 넓은 책상으로 꾸몄어요. 방은 세면의 고양이 슈퍼하이웨이 덕분에 매끄럽게 연결되며, 맞춤 제작된 요소들과 미리 제작된 부품들을 결합하여 매우 독특한 디자인을 완성했답니다.
시선을 사로잡는 강조벽
메리의 책상 맞은편에 위치한 벽은 그녀의 줌 배경으로, 라이브 클라이언트 회의 시 고양이들이 놀 수 있는 공간입니다. 벽에는 Armarkat의 헥사곤 클라이머를 하얗게 칠해 만들어진 재미있는 클라이밍 벽이 있고, Patricia Lima가 디자인한 맞춤형 벽지로 꾸며졌습니다. 특히 Patricia의 디자인을 이 프로젝트에 포함할 수 있게 되어 무척 기쁘네요!
고양이를 위한 매력적인 요소들
책상 위에는 연기가 나는 회색의 The Refined Feline사의 로터스 선반으로 구성된 클라이밍 벽이 있어요. 또, 벽 장착형 시잘 스크래처와 두 개의 아늑한 고양이 해먹이 책상 아래에 매달려 있어 고양이가 편하게 탐험할 수 있는 요소들이 많이 준비되어 있습니다.
메리는 이번 프로젝트에 대해 이렇게 말했습니다:

영어 버전: Transforming an Empty Room into a Kitten Paradise!
Hello everyone! Today, I have a delightful project to share with you. Together with my friend Mary Tan from Whisker Media, we transformed an empty room in her Minnesota home into a paradise for foster kittens. Let's dive into the details of how we achieved such a delightful transformation!
Modern Meets Marvelous Design
Mary's home follows a minimalistic style, so we wanted to keep that aesthetic while making the room playful and vibrant. We used a light grey and white color palette for a clean, modern look, adding various climbing and playful elements for the kittens to enjoy.
A Kitten's Happy Place
We replaced the carpeting with easy-to-clean vinyl flooring and included a washable Jonathan Adler rug from Ruggable for those inevitable kitten messes. A long shelf beneath the window allows kittens to enjoy the view, while a spacious desk on one side provides Mary with a workspace close to her foster kitties. The room features a continuous cat superhighway running across three sides, created from a mix of custom-built elements and pre-made pieces, resulting in a unique design flow.
Eye-Catching Accent Wall
Opposite Mary’s desk is her Zoom background, a space where kittens play during client meetings. The wall hosts fun elements like white-painted Armarkat hexagon climbers, with a custom shelf and logo sign above. An accent wall with custom wallpaper designed by Patricia Lima adds a special touch, showcasing her beautiful designs.
Enriching Elements for Cats
Above the desk is a climbing wall featuring Lotus Shelves in Smoke Grey from The Refined Feline. Multiple elements such as wall-mounted sisal scratchers and cozy cat hammocks make this room a kitten's paradise. Mary expressed her enthusiasm:
"This room is filled with thrilling ideas! The Jonathan Adler Ruggable rug really breathes life into the space, and every cat loves the features. The room feels like a work of art, yet it's incredibly practical."
